The Pentagon, headquarters of the Ministry of Defence, is the largest building office in the world, for a total of 6.5 million square feet. Of the Standing 77 meters high, is a true symbol of American exceptionalism. One could imagine that it took several years to build the Pentagon. However, it took just 16 months! Construction began exactly 60 years before the terrorist attacks of September 11 days and ended January 15, 1943. Pressure was added at the end of the building after the attack on Pearl Harbor. American architect George Bergstrom designed the Pentagon. Possible sites included the construction of Arlington Farm, adjacent to Arlington National Cemetery, and the Washington-Hoover Airport area. President Roosevelt eventually chosen for Hoover in the airport area, then cover the view of the DC, Arlington Cemetery. The original site was selected as Arlington Farms, which was due to a pentagonal design.
